How I am coping with being unemployed

Thoughts after the Seventh and Eighth months

I finished my last blog entry with a thought that I am feeling better. Later, in month seventh, unfortunately I reached the bottom of my mental and physical wellbeing! After 2 and 3 weeks in sleep depravation – due to regular pain – my positive mindset got worse. I went into 2025 and into January with so much hope because this is the month usually when companies get budget and the recruiting season starts. What happened then, why couldn’t I keep my positivity?

My back after two ventosa.

First, my priority was to find a relief for my shoulder and neck pain. I tried Cupping therapy, which is an ancient form of alternative medicine where a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. The idea is to draw blood to or away from parts of your body. People get it for many reasons, such as pain and inflammation relief, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage. I tried the same treatment at two therapists. At the second therapist the treatment was intense and painful but I went through that pain twice in a hope, this will help. Unfortunately these treatments only helped to ease the symptoms and did not solve the root cause. I was not yet able to sleep more than 2×2 hours during a night.

Meanwhile, I did not get more job calls, interviews and due to the muscle pain in my left shoulder and numb left arm, my hope faded soon. The tension at home got worse too, my wife could not deal with my agony. At the end of month 7, we went out for a walk while I was keep complaining to my wife, she burst out crying and fell on her knees and arms due to a small pothole on the tarmac. My more frequently occurring panic attacks suddenly were shocked by this event. Seeing her lying on the road, crying bitterly, shocked me. Few hours later, we ended going to the Hospital for an X-ray as she had a pain in her left arm and wrist. At the ER we were waiting for a good 3 hours and luckily she did not break any of her bones. While we were waiting there, I went through some feeling of panic seeing the agony of young and old around me. My mind was keep throwing questions like “is this what you want?!”, “do you want to live the rest of your life depending on medicies and doctors?!”, “this is what waiting for you if not acting now!”. Also asked myself, how did I end up here?

Within days I was feeling better mentally. My symptoms got better and slept better too. Before this event the panic attacks got regular and I could not manage them. After the accident of my wife, all these panic attacks gone! I still had to find a cure why my left arm is numb and have the shoulder pain. I visited a therapist who was recommended by one of my life coach. He applied acupressure & trigger point therapy on my neck and shoulders. It was a great experience without any pain and visible marks on my skin. Instantly helped and I felt better. After the treatment, I slept like a log through the night. I am simply amazed how pressing a few points helped so much that almost all my symptoms gone after 1 hour treatment. The therapist said, I had multiple trigger point inflammations that he was treating. Also, two of my vertebras in my neck were out of line.

Acupressure & Trigger point therapy is working on a similar principle to acupuncture, acupressure and trigger point therapy offer a natural way of promoting self-healing. Whilst very similar, the two processes differ somewhat and can be used in slightly different instances. Acupressure has its roots in traditional Chinese medicine and works to unblock energy pathways, also known as ‘Chi’ in the body. By putting localised pressure on certain meridians in the body, known as pressure points, our trained therapeutic practitioners can help to open up these channels and get the body back to working as it should.

There are said to be 12 different meridians in the body which correspond with different organs or networks of organs. By manipulating these points, you can bring the body back into balance and the benefits can be felt both physically and mentally. A treatment typically lasts an hour and can be done fully clothed. For long lasting results it is best to book a course of sessions with our practice – although many patients feel the benefit straight away.

Trigger Point Therapy is carried out by a therapist who applies pressure to different localised spots on the body. These trigger points are particularly painful spots in the muscle tissue from which pain radiates outwards. They are caused by the body when trauma or tension is being held and without proper treatment can result in chronic pain. These muscles can end up forming knots and are unable to release the tension on their own. During the treatment these trigger points will be gently manipulated- either pressed, stretched or squeezed until the pain receptors in the muscle are effectively deactivated. This in turn provides the client with much needed long-term relief. Source: www.thehealthlodgepractice.com

So, month 7th was probably the most difficult and I am hoping now it will remain the worst – from now on only gets better.

In month 8th I started studying an AI technology, smiled more and felt happier more often. With proper sleep, my body produced more happy hormones that helped in feeling better. As I was feeling better, got more calls from recruiters. I applied for a job to Germany and in January completed the first round interview, in February two more interviews. We made it a habit to watch Tony Robbins most recent online seminar weekly 2-3 times. That fires us up and we feel again more positive and energetic. I started bicycling and resumed the daily cold shower routine to keep the inflammation away. I was preparing for an exam about that AI driven technology, to be certified about. Seems like I am back again and the flow of life is in a good rhythm again.

By the end of month 8th, I was so motivated again, I decided to create a Facebook group for Hungarian men, a growth club for like minded men who are motivated to grow together mentally, physically and in business. I arrange a weekly meet-up online when we discuss successes from last week, goals for next week and we talk about a specific topic like what is energy, how to generate energy. If you are interested to join, follow this link to Facebook.

When I am writing this month, I am already knowing, a contract is on the way to me and month 9-10 will be a break through in my unemployment. In month 11th I am going to start working again! I will blog one more about the last two months of this long chapter in my life with a hope, my story will help others.

Please continue reading my thoughts, after 9 and 10 months of Unemployment.
